On August 15, 2022, the opening of the summer school “European Teaching Excellence for New Ukrainian Students’ Better Performance”, which is being implemented at the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, took place within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module “European Teaching Excellence for Students’ Better Performance” (620287-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE)”.
Educators from sixteen regions of Ukraine – Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kherson, Khmelnytsky, Chernivtsi – and the city of Kyiv - are taking part in this year’s summer school. The 2022 Summer School brought together teachers-winners of various competitions, authors of textbooks, and professors of higher education institutions. Among the participants of the summer school are teachers from the hotspots of Ukraine and the de-occupied territories.
The opening of the summer school began with a greeting from Oleh Mykhailovych Topuzov, Vice President of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Full Member (Academician) of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor. The trainers of the project are also O. A. Zabolotna, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Chief Researcher of the Department of International Relations and Scientific Cooperation of the Institute of Pedagogy of the NAES of Ukraine (module coordinator); O. I. Lokshyna, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the NAES of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Comparative Pedagogy of the Institute of Pedagogy of the NAES of Ukraine; L. M. Kalinina, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Academic Secretary of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine; D. V. Vasylieva, PhD in Pedagogy, Senior Researcher at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science Education of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
The summer school is targeted at increasing the competence of Ukrainian educators in developing PISA-format testing tasks to test schoolchildren’s reading, mathematical and science literacy. During the two weeks of the summer school, participants will learn more about PISA tasks and create their own PISA task collections.
